First Infrared moon test on Plato

2017-08-03T19:34:07+00:001 August 2017|Moon, News, Plato project|

First test using ZWO 850 IR pass filter on Plato and Alpine valley.
The question was: is the DBK sensitive at infrared wavelengths that the filter allows through and so can image during daylight hours?
YES!

Skymax 180 7″ Maksutov-Cass at f15
Imaging Source DBK 21AU618.as 4x60s AVI 60fps (not always achieved)
Captured with FireCapture
Processed in AutoStakkert, Photoshop CC, Lightroom
19:38 – 19:42 UT Seeing: III but low altitude

Plato project

2017-09-30T20:46:29+00:0030 June 2017|Plato project, Technique|

Image Plato crater from Lunar sunrise to sunset and make a timelapse.

From:  79 deg phase, 7.8 days
To:       259 deg phase, 23.5 days, -40.7 deg illumination

Will need daytime imaging so I have a ZWO 850nm IR pass filter for use with the DBK camera if the camera is sensitive enough at these wavewlengths (it is!). Take all images in IR.
